Congratulations to Molly Brodak, Winner of the 2019 Pleiades Press Editors Prize!

We are very pleased to announce The Cipher by Molly Brodak was selected as the winner of the 2019 Pleiades Press Editors Prize and will be published by Pleiades Press in 2020.

Molly Brodak is the author of A Little Middle of the Night (University of Iowa Press, 2010) and Bandit: A Daughter’s Memoir (Grove Atlantic, 2016), along with three chapbooks of poetry. She has received fellowships from Emory University and the National Endowment for the Arts.

 

We would also like to commend the finalists and semifinalists for the 2019 Pleiades Press Editors Prize, whose manuscripts in our opinion were all outstanding and publishable:

This fall, Pleiades Press will run the Lena-Miles Wever Todd contest for a poetry book and the Robert C. Jones contest for a book of short prose. Tiana Clark will judge the Lena-Miles Wever Todd Prize; C.J. Hauser will judge the Robert C. Jones Prize. For both contests, the winning writer will receive $3000 and the winning collection will be published in paperback by Pleiades Press and nationally distributed by Louisiana State University Press.
